A plain lawn and herringbone patio became a lit walled garden: sett circle, curved dry-stone raised beds, stone outdoor kitchen, planting to a designer's scheme and full low-voltage lighting.

Reclaimed sett circle and winding path
Reclaimed granite and sandstone setts cut to a radial circle, path laid to a curve, dry-stone raised beds behind. Built to a garden designer's drawing.
Tarmac driveway, Yew Tree Lodge
Broken concrete and patched tarmac dug out, sub-base re-compacted, hot tarmac laid and rolled up to the existing block paving.
Block paved courtyard
Old slabs lifted and the courtyard reduced with the 1.6t, 150mm sub-base, then autumn-blend blocks laid in a 45° herringbone to the house.
Block paved driveway
Autumn-blend block paving in a random three-size pattern, soldier course to the boundary, full 150mm sub-base beneath.
Stone outdoor kitchen
Curved stone-built kitchen with granite worktops, log store and housings for a smoker, kamado and pizza oven. Festoon lighting over.
New fence and turfed lawn
Closeboard fencing on concrete posts, ground levelled and rotavated, turf laid in a day.
Porcelain patio and seating area
A worn corner of lawn became a 20mm porcelain terrace with a contrasting border, levelled into the grass so the mower runs straight over the edge.
Demolition and groundworks for a new drive
Old boundary wall taken down, ivy and roots cleared, levels reduced with the 1.6t ready for the sub-base.
Planting to a designer scheme
Hard landscaping built to a garden designer's drawing, irrigation to every bed, then planted to their plan.
Dry-stone raised beds with recessed lighting
Curved dry-stone walling in local ironstone with brass recessed lights built in as the courses went up, gravel-mulched herb bed on top.
Garden lighting scheme
Recessed wall lights in the dry-stone beds, bollards through the planting, festoon over the dining area, globe lights for the paths. Wired in before a single sett went down.
Circle patio in a cottage garden
Sandstone circle kit set into bark-mulched beds with stepping stones out to the lawn. Hostas, irises and shrubs planted around it.
Lawn and stock fence at the windmill
Turfed lawn to a converted windmill, with post-and-wire fencing and wildflower margin behind.
