Porcelain & sandstone patios · Northamptonshire

Patios built properly from the ground up.

A great patio should look exceptional, drain correctly and stay solid for years. We design and install patios in porcelain, natural sandstone and other premium paving, taking care of everything from excavation and sub-base through to laying, cutting, pointing and finishing. The parts you never see once the job is done, the levels, falls, drainage and base, are what decide whether it still looks good in ten years.

01 · Porcelain & sandstone patios

Porcelain paving

Porcelain suits modern gardens and contemporary outdoor rooms. It does not stain, fade or need sealing, copes with a Northamptonshire winter, and comes in a wide range of colours, textures and large formats.

  • Large-format porcelain patios
  • Outdoor dining and seating areas
  • Porcelain paths and walkways
  • Raised patio areas and porcelain steps
  • Contrasting borders and edging
  • Indoor-to-outdoor flush thresholds

02 · Porcelain & sandstone patios

Natural sandstone patios

Sandstone is still the first choice for traditional and character gardens. Its natural variation gives every patio its own look, and it sits beautifully against brick, ironstone walls and planting. We lay it in a range of colours, patterns and finishes, from rustic cottage garden to crisp contemporary.

  • Indian sandstone and limestone
  • Random, coursed and circle layouts
  • Reclaimed setts and cobbles
  • Sandstone steps and paths
  • Sealing and aftercare advice

Pointing and grouting

The finish between the slabs matters as much as the slabs. We point and grout with the right jointing system for the stone, so joints stay clean and consistent and do not crack or wash out. Existing patios can be assessed for failed pointing, loose slabs, movement and poor drainage, and often repaired without replacing the whole thing.

  • Brush-in and slurry jointing compounds
  • Traditional sand-and-cement pointing
  • Repointing of existing patios
  • Loose slab repair

Why preparation matters

The bit you never see is the bit you’re paying for.

Full mortar bed, every slab

No spot bedding, no hollow slabs, no white staining pulling through the joints.

Falls and drainage designed in

Water goes where we send it, away from the house and into a drain or soakaway, not into a puddle by the back door.

Priced per job, not per hour

A written quote with the slab, the sub-base depth and the jointing compound named. No surprises.

Porcelain & sandstone patios: your questions.

Still got a question?Call Gaz · 07961 737684
Porcelain or sandstone, which is better?

Porcelain does not stain, fade or need sealing and copes with winter. Sandstone is warmer underfoot, cheaper per square metre and has real character, but needs sealing and will green up in shade. We fit both and will quote both.

How long does a patio take?

Most 30 to 50 m² patios take four to seven working days including dig-out, sub-base, laying and pointing.

Do you remove the old patio?

Yes. Dig-out, muck-away and disposal are itemised in the quote.

How much does a porcelain patio cost?

As a guide, a properly built porcelain patio in Northamptonshire runs £140 to £220 per square metre fully installed, depending on the slab and the ground. Sandstone is typically £110 to £170. We give a fixed written price after a site visit.
